Smooth Sailing is owned and operated by Bob Milo, an Outer Banks resident since 1990 and a graduate of Old Dominion University school of business, BSBA. After 20 years in the restaurant business he has taken his passion for customer service, consistent quality, and a good work ethic into the pool and spa cleaning business. He has a special personal relation with his customers and cares about their homes, rental business, and families. Milo personally cleans and inspects every customer’s pool, spa and outside area. He inspects and reports any problems damage or questionable situations via text directly to the homeowner and or property management.

Spray for weeds in pool area (extra fee)
OPENINGS
Blow leaves, sand and debris out of pool area
Empty skimmer baskets
Remove cover, let dry, clean, and fold neatly
Treat pool water every two days until chemicals are balanced
Treat with algae prevention (this happens 3 time a year)
Inspect and replace safety equipment if needed
Concrete and pool furniture cleaning is optional for an extra fee

Clean pool, removing all sand and leaves
Drop water level below return jets
Blow water out of pipes and plug shut
Drain pool pump, sand filter, and chlorinator
Remove steps and handrail if necessary
Strap pool cover on
SPA SERVICES
Vacuum spa
Scrub water line
Wash filter
Test and balance chemicals
Strap on cover
Drain and fill spa as needed
SPA CLOSINGS
Option 1
Turn heat down and strap down cover
Clean and maintain once a month

Drain spa
Vacuum out excess water

Milo was the primary pool tech at our Corolla vacation rental property for several years. During that time, we did not receive a single complaint from guest regarding the pool. Despite it being a large rental house (accommodates 21), Milo kept the pool looking crystal clear. Unlike some pool techs in the past from other companies, Milo did not try to sell us pool related items that we did not need. Whenever were at the house and encountered Milo, he always upbeat and friendly. He has a good understanding of pool chemistry and can perform plumbing work. He replaced the outside hose bib for us. This kept us from having to pay a plumber. Lastly, Milo gave us his personal cell phone number and promptly responded to our concerns day or night.
